ABOUT US
Operation REAPP
|
|
Operation R.E.A.P.P. is a non-profit organization
which was founded in fall of 1997. It is an
organization that is dedicated and committed
to REACHING economically deprived and at-risk
students in grades K-12. These students are
desperately in need of tutoring but are being
deprived of this vital educational support because
the family lacks the funds to pay for tutoring
services.
We feel the need to support our communities
by reaching out to these |
students, well knowing that if they can read,
write, and have self-esteem, they will be able
to make sound decisions; decisions that will
enhance their families, as well as, our communities.
They will be able to make positive choices instead
of negative choices. As a final result, our
homes and our businesses will be safer and our
communities more prosperous.
The meaning
of REAPP:
R – Reaching the unreachable
E – Educating the untouchable
A – Advocating positive attitudes
P – Promoting self esteem
P – Preventing unproductiveness |
Blind Services Support
Inc.
BSS
was incorporated in May 1992, to provide innovative
approaches to achieving independence and self-reliance
for blind and visually impaired residents of Riverside,
San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego and Los Angeles
Counties in Southern California.
Since incorporation, BSS has provided
services to many blind and visually impaired consumers,
their families and friends from local and surrounding
communities. The agency has successfully administered
grants from Weingart and PacifiCare Foundations, Rohr
Industries, the California Council of the Blind, Bank
of America, Allstate, and the Community Foundation
of Riverside County. It has also successfully administered
local city and county government contracts from 1992
to the present. In 1999, BSS received a three-year
grant from The California Endowment to address the
barriers to adequate healthcare that people with visual
impairments encounter on a regular basis. We are now
partnering with Western University Of Health Sciences,
Center for Disability Issues and the Health Professions,
as well as, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), a public
entity.
In 1996, BSS formed a unique partnership
between the community and private sector in providing
a 120 unit apartment complex in the City of Riverside.
This action created affordable housing for consumers
with low to moderate income.

of Jazz music while unifying the Inland Empire’s
diverse population, promoting tourism, and contributing
to its community.
Designed to be a weekend of fun

form of music.
The weekend will include three days

Community Outreach
The Inland Empire Jazz Festival garners the
spirit and support of residents and business owners
in the various Inland Empire communities.
With the potential of generating hundreds of thousands
of dollars, this festival serves to create opportunities
for many to benefit from its efforts to build alliances,
educate, and further develop the Inland Empire's robust
economy.
Schools, churches, and local non-profit organizations
are encouraged to participate in ticket sales for
fundraising purposes. Working closely with these entities,
the Inland Empire Jazz Festival thrives to enrich
the communities’ prosperity, cultural diversity,
and educational outlook.
We incorporate youth each year, by providing opportunity
for showcasing their talents via live performance
and exposure to the music community and media, as
well as the experience of participating in an event
with tremendous growth potential.
Additionally, we provide the opportunity to include
populations of disadvantage youth, seniors and the
disabled in this monumental event. |
